Help. Fight. Cancer.

Completing the AVON Walk for Breast Cancer: 40 miles, 2 days

FOR THE MONTH OF OCTOBER, ALL DONATIONS MADE BY HOPE 'N MOTION WILL BE GOING TO SUPPORT BREAST CANCER.
To purchase items, go to HNMs Etsy Store.

Lately the Lord has been radically making me look at my life, my health, and why I make the choices I do.
Choices in everything and anything.
Relationships. Conversations. Food. Exercise. Reading. Appearance. Style.

But yet again, today I was reminded of how precious life is, and how every minute of every hour of every day needs to honor Jesus Christ. Our days were numbered before we were born, and every circumstance, joy, and trial we face is part of our plan and a part of His perfect will.

Being twenty-five years old, most people around me should be getting married and celebrating new life. Yet since being twenty-five, more people than I've ever known diagnosed with cancer.
People my age.
People who love the Lord.
People who should not be fighting this fight.

Breast cancer.
Testicular cancer.
Lymphoma Cancer.
Brain Cancer.
Cancer. Cancer. Cancer.

We need to take our life choices into our own hands. Not our lives, for they need to be handed to Him, and trust in his goodness. But what we do with the vessel we are for him, that is on our shoulders. So while you can, LIVE.

Live for HIM.
Love for HIM.

Hug others even if they seem unclean. Go for a walk even when you hurt. Take a vacation even when funds are tight. Go to work even when you hate your boss. Enjoy the rain even when it messes up your hair, and sit in the sun even if it makes you sweat. Pray for a stranger even if it makes your heart race.

Hope.....
Hold on to it. Provide it. Make it. Have it.
It is all we have.

AUTUMN!!!

I can't believe Autumn is finally here!!

If you know me, you know this is my favorite time of year :)

The colors, the smells, the weather.... It is all aaaammmazing!

The first of our holiday pieces are up and for sale on Etsy, and I must admit they are adorable.

These two aprons are based upon our classic full body apron, with a twist. They are only half aprons, one with a fussy-cut pocket, and one without. The fabrics are Alexander Henry and Kaufman, both holding amazing quality and such vibrant colors!

If you are a Halloween lover, these are worth checking out! And for you party throwers, or all of you mothers, this is a great way to be festive without becoming the classic mom 'Halloween cat'.

For custom orders, email us at hopenmotion@gmail.com, or order our pre-made designs on out site, www.hopenmotion.etsy.com

What Do Bathing Suits and Aprons Have In Common??

When you are in the swim suit industry, an apron is most likely not something you would expect to come your way.

But leave it to me, the seamstress, and you just never know ;)

So here is what someone likes... Bathing suits. Zebra. Purple. And their husband.

Here is what someone gets :)

This 'his' and 'her' set was made for a couple with coordinating tastes in style.
The woman's apron is an original design, tailored to resemble a bikini top along with a skirt/cover-up bottom. With a flesh colored mid section, the look is finalized. The man's apron is a BBQ style apron, with a large center pocket on front.

While this was made to fit a taste of one specific couple, anything can be designed for YOU!!

Do you have colors, textures, patterns, or something you like??
 Let us know!
Do you cook and want a cupcake print with shaped pockets??
Do you have a Bride-to-Be around who wants a lil' something special??
Do you have a man in your life who needs a new BBQ outfit??

If you can imagine it, we can create it :)

Don't hesitate to email with any questions, hopenmotion@gmail.com.

'Jilly Beans' Custom Mommy Bag

As you know, me and custom orders are peas in a pod. I love them. They allow my creative juices to flow, and my skills be put to the test. This Mommy Bag's order: Canvas so it is durable, and pink. Maybe brown and pink, but must have PINK!!

So Mrs. Jilly, here is your custom bag, named after you and all ;)

The Mommy Bag is a run off our favored Everything Bag. "Jilly Beans Mommy Bag" is made of canvas, snuggle flannel, and cotton.

The Exterior is a chocolate brown canvas with dots in variations of pink, green, yellow, and orange. On the front of the bag, there is a large pocket, also made of our chocolate canvas.

On both sides(ends) of the bag, we have a bottle holder. These pockets are made of a plush baby pink cotton with chocolate brown polka dots, as well as lined with the same material. To top the bottle pockets, we have added an elastic closure to ensure your belongings don't go wandering away. We know as a mommy, you already don't have enough hands!

The interior of this Mommy Bag is lined with a Snuggle Flannel. This print is made of a yellow, white, and baby pink large square checkerboard. Topping the checkerboard are images of dots, giraffes, numbers and letters, and of course- baby sayings! There is an interior pocket which runs the width of the bag, and 7 inches deep, divided into four parts. This makes it easy to 'throw' things in but also know how and where to retrieve them.

This bag was designed to fit a custom order. If you have a color scheme or theme you would like a Mommy Bag out of, simply contact us and we would love to start the process with you.

Measurements:
Finished Bag: 15"x18"x4"
Handles: 27-29"
Finished Interior Pocket: 6.5"x22"
Finished Exterior Pocket: 8"x10"

Hope you are loving your Mommy Bag!!!

Aprons. Aprons. Aprons. And more...

The past few weeks I have been missing in action. I spent a week being a camp counselor for foster care children, then I spent the last week working. Not just a few hours, but 69 hours to be exact. Oh, and housesitting too. Needless to say, the girl who doesn't really have a 'job' has been doing everything but sitting behind her sewing machine!

But that doesn't mean production has come to a halt. In fact, in the last four weeks, we had 18 custom aprons ordered, and aside from picking fabrics and a few photos I did little but give a few words here and then, mostly when asked. Who did it all you ask, well that would be Mom. She has been a sewing machine, literally, working hours upon  hours to deliver the custom products in a short amount of time. She has also made a few items other than aprons that have been ordered...

So..... I thought I would share a few. Show you what we do- that isn't for sale on our Etsy site, because its not for sale really... It's already been purchased.

As I've said before, I LOVE CUSTOM ORDERS! And I will say it again... I LOVE THEM! They allow us to design and produce an item that you envision only in your mind. When we create a product and see your reaction of pure delight and awe, it makes the hours of searching for just the right fabric, priceless... So really- After you see what we have been up, feel free to email us if you would like a custom order.

Ordering information or questions email hopenmotion@gmail.com.

I LOVE Custom Orders :)

A few days ago I received a custom order form for an Everything Bag. For me, these might be my favorites :) I get to be creative, work with an individual and create a one of a kind product that fits their life style and my designs. This customer saw our Everything Bags, but liked our Over the Shoulder 'Hide 'n Seek' Bag... So we combined them :)

I must admit, for an outdoorsy, camping, or adventurous woman, this bag is perfect! I even might admit I am kind of fond of it myself ;)

Check it out- 'Hide 'n Seek' Everything Bag

One year ago today

June 29, 2010 was one of the longest days of my life, yet one of the most existing, bittersweet, days of my life. It was my last day as a missionary, and the day I would return to the States.

After hours of travel~ a bus to Bangkok, a plane to Shanghai, an 8 hour layover, and a plane to LAX~ I was exhausted I wanted the comforts of home, a drive thru fountain root beer, a bean cheese and rice burrito, and a shower with real towels and real hot water. I wanted to hold my cell phone and tell loved ones I was home safe. I wanted to see my parents waiting for me at baggage claim. I was ready to be home.

At the same time I said good bye to most of my new family in Bangkok. Out of 80 or so of us, only 8 of us flew through China. That meant saying good bye in Thailand was it. Tears and hugs and pictures galore. It was the reality of knowing you had finally learned to truly love your new family, but now you were leaving them for your real family. It was the reality of knowing these people knew you, inside and out, good days and bad, shower or no shower, and learned to love the God in you anyway. That was about to leave. On a different plane. To a place you can only hope will one day reunite you.

Getting to the airport was relief and stimulis overload all at once. You begin to realize how hard it is when everyone around you is speaking your language. You don't know who to listen to or how to block things out. There are signs and you can read every single one of them, including the ones that show you how long you are about to wait in a customs line before you reach your family waiting just on the other side. On the way home I was at a loss for what to say. Instead I was told about things at home, how family was, the neighboordhood, and 4th of July plans. A short ways into the traffic coming out of Los Angeles, I needed to stop. Nearest place was Krispy Kreme... Not only did I use their bathroom, I also ate two fresh glazed donuts in the car. My first American food home. Then of course we still had to stop to get my favorite burrito and my soda. It didn't matter how full I was already.

It was a few days later as jet lag wore off and reality set it. Things at home hadn't changed much. Everyone was still doing the same thing as when I left a year prior. Kids were a bit taller but still kids. Jobs were still jobs and the job market still sucked. I began to miss my life as a missionary. I missed my random beds and one room with 7 people. I missed my bucket showers and mosquito nets. I missed worship nights and prayer times. I missed having Kingdom as my main focus.

It was soon after God really began to build upon a vision that started in my last month on the mission field. It was then Hope 'n Motion came to fruition. I knew I was called to bring Kingdom in a new way, in a way that was fit unto me.

Helping Overcome Poverty's Existence.... HOPE..... It was a word with so many meanings now.

hope (noun). 1. a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to come. 2. a person or thing that may help save someone. 3. grounds for believing that something good may happen.

Hope is something I believe as a human we need to survive. We need to know that we have hope, that we hope for our future, that God gives us hopes and dreams. And it has a new meaning for me now as well... To help overcome poverty's existence in one way shape or form.

I will not say it is ironic or coinsidence, but a gift from God that yesterday, one day before my one year anniversary of re-entry, I was able to ship out my first Hope 'n Motion shipment. By His grace and mercies the vision He has given me will carry on, with all glory back to Him.

I want to thank those of you that have supported me, walked along side of me, purchased from me, and prayed for me. Without you all my vision would be nothing. I pray you continue to follow my journey, support me when and where you can, and please, help spread the word. The word of what I am doing, and the Word of God.

Product Collection: Over the Shoulder Bag

It has finally commenced. The first shipment that will head cross country to sell with the World Race trainees... After hours upon hours and many prayers upon prayers, this collection is complete.

Each bag measures 16"x16"x3". The handle is made to go over the shoulder, and across the body, measuring between 40" and 44". If it is desired to use as a standard one shoulder purse, just simply tie up the handle strap and it's ready to go. I know, because I do this myself from time to time.

If you will not be attending WR Training Camp, but desire a product you see here, email me at hopenmotion@gmail.com
